I usually forget to check in on #genchat, but when I do, it's a ride in the fast lane!! And Sir Leprechaunrabbit doesn't serve enough single malt scotch!
I'm retired, originally worked in nursing (BScN), later got another degree (MA) in counselling psychology; before retirement, I was one of the 2 BC Coordinators for a community/home-based brain injury rehab program for acute brain injuries of children & teens.
Love genealogy, and occasionally teach courses for beginners; have written a booklet on one line of my family. I also write romance novels. And when I need to get away from my computer, I enjoy my organic veggie garden in the rain forest of Vancouver BC, counting earthworms and taking slugs to another home.
Family lines are Northern Ireland (Co.Tyrone), Black Midlands, and early New England settlers. Dutch, German, English, Irish.
I write a blog "Twigs and Trees" and enjoy writing about individuals, making me do more research. Another blog I have, "Terwilliger Souvenir Album" is my attempt to photograph and inventory the huge souvenir album my great-great-grandfather, James "Grove" Grover Terwilliger put together from about 1840-1920.
You can find me on Facebook (usually checking in on my adult girls, cousins, various friends, writers, and occasional genealogists.
Mostly, I'll be on Twitter celialewis tweeting and retweeting on anything from genealogy, science (particularly women in STEM), @maryleeshark silliness, and whatever else catches my fancy in archeaology, astronomy, quotes, ocean/marine life, writing tips, etc. etc. etc.
...and I haven't a clue how this Forum will work.
